Listen. Then spell.
Type the word you hear.
FOR NEW SPELLERS. AND THE GROWN-UPS CHEERING THEM ON.
Loud Bee says a word out loud. Your child types it,
and Loud Bee checks the spelling right away.
Then they hear what the word means.
A spelling app for iPhone and Android.
Type the word you hear.
Three words to try, read aloud by your browser.
LISTEN. SPELL. DISCOVER.
Practice that fits between breakfast and the bus.
Nothing to
score by hand. Just a word and a good try.
Tap the speaker and listen. Hear it again as often as you like, or slow the voice down.
Type what you hear, with no autocorrect to give it away. Loud Bee checks the spelling right away.
Hear what it means and how it’s used in a sentence. A missed word goes to the practice pile for another try.
WORDS FROM THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEM.
A teacher or grown-up shares a word set as a QR code. Scan it in Word Lists, and Loud Bee saves the words, their meanings, and every sound.
Loud Bee starts empty. Each set you add comes from a QR code you scan.
Who’s practicing?
ONE DEVICE. EVERY SPELLER.
For the kitchen table, the car ride, or a quiet minute before bed. Practice fits right in.
Everyone picks a name and a color. Word sets are shared, and each person’s results, missed words, and progress stay their own.
Once a set is ready for offline practice, it goes wherever you do. No signal needed.
A miss is “Not quite yet.” The word goes to the practice pile, ready for another try.
Profiles stay on the device. There’s no email address, birthday, or sign-up.
A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS.
Children who are learning to spell, and the grown-ups who help them. Each word set says which ages it suits. Once a grown-up adds a set, a child can practice on their own.
From a QR code. A teacher, a school, or a grown-up makes a word set, puts it online, and shares its QR code. In Word Lists, tap Scan QR code and point the camera at it. Loud Bee downloads the set and every recording in it. Scanning is the only way to add a set.
A word set can include recordings of each word, its meaning, and its sentence. Where a set has none, Loud Bee uses your device’s own voice. The sample on this page uses your browser’s voice.
It compares what was typed with the word set’s spelling, letter for letter. Capital letters and spaces at either end don’t count against an answer; accents do. Nobody has to mark an answer right or wrong.
Yes. Adding a set needs an internet connection. Loud Bee then saves its words and every recording on the device. A set that shows Ready for offline practice works without Wi-Fi.
Yes. Loud Bee opens with Who’s practicing?, where everyone has a profile. Word sets are shared, and each profile keeps its own results and missed words.
No. There’s no sign-up, email address, or birthday. Profiles and practice stay on the device. Our privacy policy has the details.
